Shwedagon Pagoda

The Shwedagon Pagoda is the most important religiosious building and the religious center of Myanmar in Yangon. The dating of the first stupa is controversial; according to legend it was built before the death of the historical Buddha. The present form of the stupa dates back to 1769.
